General Delegation for Armaments – Setting up indicators on the perceived efficiency of infomation systems
Putting in place a user survey methodology and steering dashboards.
Context and challenge
The DGA was looking for reliable indicators to measure and compare over time the efficiency of a part of its Information, Administration and Management System.
SQLI adopted a participative approach broadly associating users. 300 people were queried in a survey about their usage of business applications.
Several criteria were taken into account when carrying out the survey: availability, adaptation of features to business needs, ease of use, the quality of the support, in order to define the statistical processing to analyse trends in the form of percentages and enable comparisons.
Following this study, SQLI drew up IS development steering support indicators and dashboards for the main IS components.
The first survey provided an overall level of efficiency, an assessment of the various key parameters (availability, adaptation to needs, ease of use, etc.) and priority areas for improvement. It has been on-going for the last 4 years and enables steering of indicators over time to ensure high quality IS performance.
