Adoption of Design Sprint

Context and challenges

The sports betting sector requires players to constantly innovate to deliver the best possible experience to users, particularly on mobile phones and on key courses.

This is why Betclic, the sector leader in France, wanted to rework the onboarding stage for new users of its mobile application.

Support

SQLI experts led the sprint with the Betclic team consisting of product, marketing, UX and UI design and data managers. In the specific field of sports betting, onboarding is quite complex as it has to comply with different steps required by the National Gaming Authority. For example, a user must create an account with multiple personal information, fill in gaming limits and make a deposit before being able to make his first bet. The aim was to find opportunities that would encourage a new user, who may be a novice, to go through with the registration and start experimenting with sports betting.

Benefits

At the end of the Design Sprint, the various hypotheses and ideas for improvement could be challenged directly via user tests. The main action based on the prototype created was decided, namely to make the experience more immersive as soon as the application was opened.

Subsequently, other ideas were also identified and are currently being validated or designed.

"This design sprint was very positive: the participants are unanimous, the methodology gives quick results and matches Betclic's culture. The SQLI team was able to deliver real expertise, and the exchanges at both the professional and human levels were of high quality."
